Neurobiological Impact of Mold Toxins on Speech, Cognition, Gut Health and Growth in Children with ASD
Exposure to the complex mixture of inflammagens and toxigenic microbes growing in water-damaged buildings can lead to mold illness. Most patients exhibit detrimental structural brain changes in the cortical grey matter and the forebrain, leading to development of adverse cognitive effects, developmental delays in speech, language, motor skills, memory, learning, focus and more. Mold Illness is a chronic, progressive, multi-system syndrome that can lead to systemic inflammation most notably in the gut leading to malabsorption, enterocolitis, poor growth, neurotransmitter imbalance, immune dysfunction and hormonal changes. Dr. Dashore will discuss the neurobiological impact seen and natural treatment options including herbal medicine to help reverse the brain changes, reestablish biochemical balance, and repair the associated physiological damage.
